About Coach Gargiulo

Director: Coach Thomas Gargiulo teaches Primary and Adaptive Physical Education and is the former Head Baseball Coach at nearby Nutley High School (1990-2001).    He was an assistant baseball coach under Norm Schoenig at Montclair State (2002) and the Head Baseball Coach at Paramus Catholic High School (2004).  He is currently an Assistant Baseball Coach at James Caldwell High School under Tom Lamont.

During his tenure in Nutley, Gargiulo coached the Raiders to two New Jersey State Sectional Championships (1996 & 2001), two Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League (NNJIL) Conference crowns (1995 & 1996) and two Greater Newark Tournament titles (1993 & 2001).  He was selected the Newark Star Ledger Essex County "Coach of the Year" in 2001 and on three occasions coached the North Section II, Top 100 High School All-Star Teams at Princeton University (1993, 1996 & 2001). 

He was an All-County, All-Area, and All-State centerfielder at Nutley HS (1982), under Head Coach Dennis Sasso. Gargiulo was a three year starter at Murray State University, (Murray, Kentucky), under Hall of Famer and Head Coach Johnny Reagan.  He was also an All-Ohio Valley Conference selection at shortstop in 1985.

He also holds a B.S. in Physical Education with a Minor in Youth Agency Administration from Murray State University, and earned his Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from New Jersey City University.
